This conference will present state-of-the-art prevention practices for a cross-section of professionals in the field of child abuse, to help us create that safer world. Due to a generous grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, there is NO registration fee for this conference. However, space is very limited. Potty Training workshop Time: 9:30am - 12:30pm Location: Decatur First Baptist Church, 123 Church Avenue, Decatur More info: Patrick Kelly at 518-8672 Potty training is a major milestone for all youngsters. Learn how to make it easier on parents and little ones at this workshop, led by Teri Pinto from the UAB Civitan International Research Center in Birmingham. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to: identify major developmental milestones that indicate a child's readiness for potty training, know how to prepare a child for toileting skills and gain strategies for stimulating bowel function in children with special needs. The workshop is geared toward Early Intervention providers from all agencies and disciplines: parents, family members, nurses, social workers, educators and child care providers. CEU's are available through Auburn University at Montgomery. Certificates of Attendance will be issued to those not requiring CEU's. Registration is limited to sixty.
