Calculation of Continuing Education Hours

Continuing education for The 28th National Symposium on Child Sexual Abuse is sponsored by The Institute for Continuing Education. Continuing education credit is offered as listed.  Continuing education credit is awarded on a session-by-session basis, with full attendance required at the sessions attended.   There is no processing fee for continuing education credit.  Representatives from The Institute will be on site to accept applications for continuing education credit and to assist conference attendees.  Symposium attendees who wish to receive continuing education credit MUST check in at the continuing education desk to make formal application and receive continuing education materials.  Certificates of Attendance will be available at the CEU desk for non-licensed attendees.   Verification of contact hours earned will be mailed to applicants following the Symposium.  For specific questions regarding continuing education availability for your discipline in your state, please call The Institute at: 251-990-5030; FAX: 251-990-2665;   e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Psychology: This activity is co-sponsored by The Institute for Continuing Education and the National Children’s Advocacy Center.  The Institute for Continuing Education is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists.  The Institute maintains responsibility for the program and its content. 

Counseling: The Institute for Continuing Education is an NBCC approved continuing education provider and a co-sponsor of this event.  The Institute for Continuing Education may award NBCC approved clock/contact hours for programs that meet NBCC requirements.  The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for this program and its content.   NBCC Provider No. 5643.

Social Work: The Institute for Continuing Education is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB), through the  Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program.  The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for the program.  Licensed social workers should contact their individual state jurisdiction to review current continuing education requirements for licensure renewal.   ASWB Provider No. 1007.

Marriage-Family Therapy: The Institute for Continuing Education is recognized as a provider of continuing education by the Alabama Board of Marriage/Family Therapy Examiners. 
 
Drug-Alcohol: The Institute for Continuing Education is approved by the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) to provide continuing education for alcohol and drug abuse counselors.  NAADAC Provider No. 00243.

Nursing: The Institute for Continuing Education is an approved provider of continuing education in nursing by the Alabama Board of Nursing, Provider No. 1124.   Nurses are responsible for checking with their state board to determine if credit issued through an approved provider of the AL Board of Nursing is accepted by their state board.

Law Enforcement/Legal: The Alabama POST recognizes the National Children’s Advocacy Annual Symposium as appropriate for continuing education for law enforcement professionals.
The Legal Track of the program will be submitted to The Alabama State Bar for review/approval for continuing legal education for Alabama attorneys.    Attorneys residing in other states are responsible for checking with their State Bar to determine if CLE credit approved by the Alabama State Bar is accepted for credit by their state bar.
