CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF HELPING YOU HELP CHILDREN!

You don't want to miss the excitement of this special anniversary of the National Symposium on Child Abuse.

The child abuse field has come a long way since the first Symposium 25 years ago. This year will feature state-of-the-art workshops from pioneers in the field and those working to address emerging issues.

Symposium is a multidisciplinary training conference offering numerous networking opportunities and more than 130 workshops.

Symposium begins Monday evening, March 23, 2009 at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. This is a relaxing evening, a time to receive registration materials and mingle with staff and faculty. An informal dinner is provided, and guests are welcome to tour the museum and view an IMAX movie.

Workshop sessions begin on Tuesday, March 24 at 8:30 am, and conclude at noon on Thursday, March 26. Each of the 10 workshop sessions features at least 13 different workshops. Workshop tracks are designed specifically for Administration, Child Protective Services, Interviewing, Law Enforcement, Legal, Medical, Mental Health/Treatment, Prevention, Victim Advocates, and Wellness. Many workshops are of interest to anyone in the child maltreatment field. You do not have to sign up in advance for workshops, and are free to choose the workshops you would like to attend. Cross-training is encouraged.

In addition to the state-of-the-art workshops, Symposium provides daily continental breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon refreshment breaks, a band party Wednesday evening, a special Symposium tote bag, and transportation to all Symposium venues from the Symposium hotels. Airport transportation is provided on Thursday from the Von Braun Center.

Symposium will conclude Thursday, March 26, 2009 at noon. Box lunches will be provided to either “Eat In” or “Take ‘n Go.”
