This tuition-free training is specifically designed for professionals from various disciplines who participate in a CAC multidisciplinary team and wish to develop and enhance team skills and relationships.
In this course, participants will learn how to:
· Develop trust and teamwork
· Nurture team identity and commitment
· Help your team solve problems and make decisions
· Manage conflict and resolve differences
· Enhance investigative strategies and team operation
Teams must be affiliated with a CAC and consist of six active team members. The disciplines of Child Protection Services, Law Enforcement, Prosecution, and Mental Health are required to attend, with two additional slots that may be filled by CAC Team Coordinators, Victim Advocate, or Medical.

Accreditation Boot Camp
October 18 – 19, 2010

Boot Camp is for those CACs who are applying for accreditation and re-evaluation for membership to the National Children’s Alliance.
This training is designed for CACs who are six to eighteen months away from applying for accreditation or re-evaluation.
Course Topics include: Newly revised NCA standards; understanding the re-accreditation process; acceptable variations of the national standards; preparing the accreditation packet; preparing for the site visit.

This training is specifically designed for medical professionals who have the responsibility for providing the medical evaluation for children who are suspected victims of child abuse.
Course Topics include: role of the medical provider; collaboration in the medical community; evaluation and diagnostic approach of child physical and sexual abuse; documentation and interpretation of findings; diagnostic dilemmas; testifying as the medical expert; use of technology; networking; peer review and multi-disciplinary team development. Participants are required to submit case presentation(s).
Target Audience: This training is appropriate for physicians, nurse practitioners, SANE Nurses or other RN’s with advanced training, and physician’s assistants. This training is not intended for nurses or other health care providers whose role is to assist an examiner.
