Team Facilitator Training

July 10 - 12, 2007
Huntsville, AL

Tuition: $49
This training is designed for Children's Advocacy Center staff/multidisciplinary team members wishing to enhance their skills as facilitators of team meetings.

Persons who facilitate MDTs may have different roles/functions on the team and/or work in different agencies. For this training, when we refer to team facilitators we are talking about persons who may assist teams with creating a safe environment that promotes involvement of all team members, assist the team in identifying system issues that impact cases, help team members make collaborative decisions, help the team address and resolve conflicts.

Multidisciplinary Team Development

September 10 - 13, 2007 and October 8 - 11, 2007
Huntsville, AL

Tuition-Free
This training is specifically designed for professionals from various disciplines who participate in a CAC multidisciplinary team and wish to develop and enhance team skills and relationships. In this course, you will learn how to develop trust and teamwork, nurture team identity and commitment, help your team solve problems and make decisions, manage conflict and resolve differences, and enhance investigative strategies and team operation.

Teams must be affiliated with a CAC and consist of six active team members. The disciplines of Child Protection Services, Law Enforcement, Prosecution, and Mental Health are required to attend, with two additional slots that may be filled by CAC Team Coordinators, Victim Advocate, or Medical.

Southern Region Basic Medical Training

November 11 - 13, 2007
Huntsville, AL

Tuition: $199
This training is designed specifically for health care providers who have the responsibility for providing the medical evaluation for children who are suspected victims of child abuse. This training is appropriate for physicians, nurse practitioners, SANE nurses, or other registered nurses with advanced training, and physician's assistants with less than 2 years of experience in this area of health care. This training is not intended for nurses or other health care providers whose role is to assist an examiner.
