2022 Training Topic: Utilizing a Critical Thinking Framework in the Forensic Interview: Moving from Rote to Responsive Practices
Forensic interviewing is a highly complex, interactive, and challenging process requiring initial training, practice-focused supervision, and ongoing education. Effective practitioners must possess a broad repertoire of skills and a well-developed critical thinking framework to meet both the needs of the child and the investigative team. This research-informed, non-protocol-specific course will focus on essential skill development and strategies for effective application.
This live online training is moderated, highly interactive, and takes place over three days. The class size is limited to 30 participants, led by two NCAC trainers with a combined total of over 50 years of experience in the field of forensic interviewing.
The interactive training utilizes demonstration videos, experiential activities, lectures, guided discussions, and reflections. In addition, each day offers opportunities for learners to submit forensic interviews for group assessment and review. This training is presented in English. If you need interpretation or any other accommodation to participate in this training please contact the training coordinator. International participants are responsible for their own interpretation services.
