Holiday recipes from the Newlin family

Holiday Cocktail
Ingredients:
2 ounces of Hendrick’s Gin
1 ounce of Elderflower Liquor
2 ounces of Cranberry Juice
Splash of squeezed lemon
Lemon zest strip
Directions:
Fill shaker with ice
Add Gin, Elderflower liquor, and Cranberry Juice
Shake well and pour into a chilled Martini Glass
Add lemon and lemon twist
Enjoy!!
Peppermint Bark
Ingredients:
1 pound of Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Melting Wafers
1 pound of Ghirardelli White Chocolate Melting Wafer
¾ teaspoon of Peppermint Extract
½ cup of peppermint candy, crushed
Directions:
Use a double boiler to melt Dark Chocolate Melting Wafers
Add Peppermint Extract and stir well
Line a cookie sheet with foil or parchment paper, letting it hang over the sides
Pour melted Dark Chocolate into the cookie sheet and place in the freezer for at least 30 minutes
Use a double boiler to melt White Chocolate Melting Wafers
Pour melted White Chocolate on top of the hardened Dark Chocolate
Sprinkle crushed Peppermint Candy over the White Chocolate immediately
Put back into the freezer for at least 30 minutes to let bark harden
Remove from freezer and cut into two inch strips or break into chunks
Enjoy!!
