Volunteer
Your actions, whether big or small, impact a child’s life!
The National Children’s Advocacy Center offers various projects throughout the year for all volunteers. Whether it’s working outdoors on our beautiful campus, volunteering at our welcome desk, baking holiday cookies for our community partners, or teaching child abuse prevention classes (SCAN) in our local schools, the NCAC would love for you to join our volunteer family!
Email Adelaide Waggoner at awaggoner@nationalcac.org for a volunteer packet.
Due to the nature of our work, each volunteer is required to complete a background clearance.
Please allow up to 2 weeks for your application to be processed. Once your application has been processed and cleared, the NCAC Volunteer Coordinator will reach out with upcoming opportunities to get involved.
Donate your time and talents:
- Provide administrative support through data management, supply organization, annual mailing campaigns, and lots more
- Organize our Healthy Families client clothing closet and food pantry
- Provide one-time or regular maintenance of our Children’s Building therapy garden, art therapy room, or lobby play area.
- Volunteer at one of our Special Events
- Bake cookies for our Holiday Community Partner Cookie program
- Organize a ‘Done In A Day’ project through your business or employer
Please note: most volunteers do not work directly with children and families; however, our children and families receive the best care from the best professionals because of the support of volunteers like YOU. Volunteers are required to complete and clear the Alabama Department of Human Resources Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Clearance and national criminal background check prior to being admitted to campus to volunteer.
