Logistics for Beyond Basic Forensic Interviewing Training Courses

Each participant needs access to the following to fully participate in the virtual training:

• Computer: Not all applications can be fully accessed on mobile devices, therefore, a computer is recommended; shared devices are not recommended for use, especially during the interview practicum
• Strong Internet Connection: Test your internet speed
• Web-camera
• Noise-canceling headset/earbuds with a microphone
• Ability to download the Zoom app (virtual training will be conducted via Zoom)
• Training participants will have access to the National Children's Advocacy Center Virtual Training Center (NCACvtc)

Trainees are required to attend all course sessions as well as complete all assignments, as assigned, outside the course meetings. Participants who miss any portion of a course session or other assignments will not receive a Certificate of Completion for the course.

Flight arrangements should be scheduled so that the trainee arrives the day before training begins since training begins at 9:00 a.m. on the first day. It is also recommended that departure flights be scheduled 6:00 p.m. or later on the last day of training to allow adequate transportation time to the airport.

Limited parking is available at the Training Center for those driving to training each day.

Important Note: Training classes are subject to cancellation in the event of insufficient registrations. Therefore, DO NOT make non-refundable travel arrangements until you receive both a “Preliminary Registration” e-mail AND a “Final Confirmation” e-mail from NCAC that the training will take place (approximately 4 to 6 weeks before the training). In the event of cancellation due to insufficient registrations, 100% of the registration fee will be refunded.

Transportation arrangements are the responsibility of the trainee. Nearby hotels, such as Embassy Suites, may provide shuttle service, at their discretion.

Trainees are responsible for all transportation expenses incurred, such as but not limited to, flight, car rental, Uber, Lyft, and taxi, when traveling to and from the training site.

Trainees are responsible for making reservations, in addition to all lodging expenses incurred.

There are multiple restaurants within the area of the NCAC. A minifridge is also available to participants who would like to bring their own lunches. Lunch may be provided during the training.

This training is presented in English; the NCAC does not provide translation services.
