The 2023 NCAC Spanish Speaking Forensic Interviewing of Children Training is a three-day curriculum that meets Tuesday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Central Time).
The virtual training is held live with participation mandatory in each class session. Some additional coursework including reading, viewing videos, and knowledge checks (pre- and post-tests) are also required outside the virtual classroom time.
Training materials will be made available two weeks prior to the first official day of training. All course documents, worksheets, and articles to be used during the training will be available through the NCACvtc to be downloaded prior to training attendance.
Each participant needs access to the following to fully participate in the virtual training:
- Computer: Not all applications can be fully accessed on mobile devices, therefore, a computer is recommended; shared devices are not recommended for use, especially during the interview practicum
- Strong Internet Connection: Test your internet speed
- Web-camera
- Noise-canceling headset/earbuds with a microphone
- Ability to download the Zoom app (virtual training will be conducted via Zoom)
- Training participants will have access to the National Children's Advocacy Center Virtual Training Center (NCACvtc)
Trainees are required to attend all course sessions (note above start and end times of training) in the virtual classroom as well as complete all assignments outside the course meetings. Participants who miss any portion of a course session or other assignments will not receive a Certificate of Completion for the course.
This training is presented in English; the NCAC does not provide translation services.
